Our education system taught us so many things over the decades of our formal learning years but one MAJOR thing I feel they missed out on which is fundamental to our lifes experience is, how to be happy!

I mean, I don't think I have used calculus yet. Have you?
Yet happiness eluded me most of my life until I learned some tools I was not taught. Education on being happy is what the world is missing. It wasn't until I embarked on self learning, to minimise my own personal human suffering, did things start to emerge for creating change. When I started to discover these incredibly simple philosophies and when I began to realise that it was my OWN responsibility, things started to change.
Here are 30 really simple habits for happiness I came across that I think are fundamental to change. Enjoy...
Be kind - kindness begets kindness. You don't know what someone else is going through
Eat well - what you put into your body is essentially what you become so love your body and feed it food to add well being into your life
Exercise - Walking around the block increases your energy and creates a resilience to cope better with what life brings
Meditate - taking time in your day to centre yourself opens your heart to a greater awareness of self and of self love which creates a sense of well being
Be honest - The words you speak create the life you will experience. Honesty ensures a better future. Of authenticity and trust with others which creates harmony in your life
Dream big - what you think about you bring about. Always hold in your vision a future greater than you are currently experiencing. It will pull you towards those experiences
Be patient - patience is a virtue embracing peaceful presence. All in divine timing
Judge less - Judgement ensures being judged by others. Everyone does what they do for a reason and a purpose so until we can walk in someones shoes, we let them experience their reality
Smile often - smiling creates and energy shift and sense of wellness. It's attractive and draws others to you. It changes your physiology. Try it.
Love yourself - the greatest love of all is the love for yourself which in turn is projected outward to the love of others. How you feel about yourself is how you will see the world
Forgive easily - there is no-one without fault. We are all doing the best we can given the information and knowledge we have. Forgiveness releases YOU from the shackles of that pain and resentment. Let go and free yourself
Show gratitude - gratitude is ultimately the ultimate state of receivership. It connects you with others on a higher level and creates feel good chemicals that flood your body to enhance your health and vitality giving you more in life to be grateful for
Think positively - what you think about you bring about. Thinking positively attracts more positive experiences into your life
Drink lots of water - when we drink ample amounts of water we give our bodies the opportunity to flush toxins naturally enhancing health
Believe in yourself - walk in faith that you have all you will ever need within you to create the life you have always wanted. Believing in yourself is total empowerment to overcome obstacles and self doubt. It's tapping in to your own personal divine plan for your life
Keep an open mind - there are countless viewpoints in the world and every person sees life through a different filter and perspective. To keep an open mind is the release of making yourself right all the time or someone else wrong. You will learn so many things with an open mind. Being open to everything but attached to nothing creates a wonderful sense of freedom
Put your needs first - you were born with desires and dreams. Putting your needs first fulfills your purpose and gives you a sense of worthiness
Don't make excuses - excuses are well planned lies that keep you stuck and dishoner your own needs and desires.
Speak well of others - words create an energy that is projected into the ether. They are the seeds we sow which will come back to us. What we reap we sow. Don't speak it unless you want to experience it. Everyone is unique and divine.
Listen and understand - being heard and being present for another and really listening is the greatest gift you can give someone. Your undivided attention
Choose faith over fear - everything happens for a reason and a purpose and it serves you. Walking in faith lifts you up. Live in a state of curiosity expecting something wonderful
Make the most of now - now is ultimately all we have. There are no guarantees for a tomorrow and in this moment you can find happiness and peace no matter what is going on around you
Exercise self-discipline - self-discipline propels you towards what you want in life. It creates a sense of personal empowerment, accomplishment and achievement
Look on the bright side - the bright side is a way to look at life. The silver lining after the storm. Always see the good in every situation. Everything presents itself to learn something. You then move into flow instead of resistance
Avoid social comparison - comparing yourself to others will strip you of your self esteem. You are an incredibly unique, special and a magnificent creation with your own purpose and agenda for this life. To compare yourself tells divinity that it made a mistake. It's like saying someone elses fingerprint is better than your own. Learn to love who YOU are. There is no-one just like you who has the talents and skills that you do.
See failure as opportunity - failure simply means that you haven't discovered the right way yet and each failure brings you closer to your purpose and to success
Don't take others opinions to heart - everyone sees things from their perspective. It does not mean that they are right, it just means that they see if differently. If we take their opinions to heart we make ourselves wrong. It's simply a different perspective
Select friends that lift you up - the people you surround yourself with are who you ultimately become. There is an exchange of energy with those who you are around. Positivity is important to a positive uplifting life
Let go of what can't be changed - let go let God. What you cannot change don't dwell upon, as you keep yourself stuck in the energy of it which stops you from moving forward. Ultimately nothing matters in the grand scheme of things in the universe
Have a healthy sleep pattern - a rested body creates an energetic life. The universe functions on regularity and patterns and routine. The sun rises at the same time, the earth rotates around the sun each year. It all flows. You too flow on a healthy routine and sleep is the same. It's a cylce the body needs and regularity creates top performance
